SUSTAINABLE AND SAFE
FireFabric is flexible, water, smoke, soot and chemical resistant, UV-resistant and glass particle free. The coating of the fabric increases the temperature resistance and applicability. The coated fabric can be processed like any other cloth. Cutting, stitching, or combined with other materials. Sizes are only limited by manageable dimensions and weight.
FireFabric is made of E-glass. The weight ranges from 200 grams per square meter up to 1250 grams per square meter. The fire resistance depends on the selected thickness and coating and starts at 600ºC up to 1000ºC. It’s also possible to chose FireFabric woven with stainless steel, and we work with wear-resistant treatments that make FireFabric heavy duty.
Jan Scholtens, founder of FireFabric, was looking for a solution for the growing number of forest fires on our planet. He came up with an idea to place screens of fire proof textile around the burning parts of a forest, and started to develop fire proof textile.
At the end, he created the Global Fire Curtain. A in hight and length variable screen to protect forests, vineyards, olive groves and neighborhoods. Global warming is a fact. Because of that, forests dry out and fires are more common. The protection of our planet is a global task. The cloth Jan developed has very special characteristics. It’s flexible, chemical and UV resistant, water, smoke and soot proof and glass particle free. That makes the material useful in many other fields. Questions from the industry and individuals create all kinds of different products using FireFabric.
With co-creation, we developed a bag to safely store flairs in stadiums (Pyrobag). We came up with a cover for industrial trolleys (Firecovers), bags to protect precious works of art, photographs and important documents (Firebags) and blankets in hospitals and firetrucks (Fireblankets).
